Numenera: A new roleplaying game from Monte Cook

I plan on backing this project on Kickstarter as soon as I have the money to do so. Because Monte Cook is awesome. And it's a game that he has made himself. From what I've read on his site and on the Numenera site it seems like a fun game. I like his take on experience points and the such. Check out the sites and the Kickstarter and if you like role playing games please back the project. It's already far over the initial goal and quite a few stretch goals have been passed.

For $50 you get the following:
App (Android or iOS)
Name in the back of the corebook
Numenera Player's Guide PDF
Numenera corebook PDF
Exclusive Kickstarter supporter adventure (The Nightmare Switch) PDF
The Devil's Spine 32-page adventure PDF
The Mechanized Tomb 32-page adventure PDF
The Other Side of the Maelstrom 32-page adventure PDF
The Ninth World Bestiary 160-page PDF
Numenera 3D Paper Fold-Up Terrain PDF

Plus if it gets to $220,000 Monte will write a 96 page book on technology. Which I understood was similar to a items book.

Watch the video from the project site and go check it out more if you are interested. In the least passing it on would be great too!

  1. Have you played any mini's games that aren't role playing? I'm thinking of funding Relic Knights on Kickstarter. I have their Zombicide game, and it is... amazing.

  2. So that's the game you were talking about a week or two ago? The one with all the cool mini's? I didn't even realize it was out already.

I don't think that I have. I haven't even played an RPG in a while. I have a card game called Sopio. One called Forbidden Island. And Cthulhu Dice. My brother has a game called Zombie dice which is fun too.

  3. I've heard of all those except Sopio. Kickstarter is an addiction of mine though. I've been resisting throwing cash at it lately until some I've kicked come in.

  4. I know. I'm kinda glad I never have any extra cash or it'd be going to Kickstarter stuff. Though I do get sad when I have to miss out on some awesome stuff. I've backed one that is supposed to ship this month but it looks as though it may be a bit later. Which is fine by me. I want it to be the best it can be. And I will most likely be doing this one if I'm able. Still has about 3 weeks to go.

Sopio is a card game made by a couple of youtubers from the UK. One of which is in a Doctor Who band called Chameleon Circuit. I'll bring it home with me so you can check it out. It's more of a laid back fun game.
