Ramblings

I'm sure at some point I will start to repeat myself in this blog and post entries that are almost the same as past entries. But how the heck am I supposed to remember everything I write about!

I was actually going to rant and complain about stuff that annoyed me but by the time that I got started blogging I totally forgot what I was thinking! Oh well...

Now what am I supposed to blog about?! O.o

Well I've been wanting to get back into gaming. Mainly pen and paper RPGs. It's been a long time since I've played but I always had fun doing so. DnD 3.5 to be exact. We'll see though. Or maybe the Star Wars game! haha

I also want to get writing. But for some reason, no matter how much I want to write, I always find ways to distract myself from it. Such as: telling myself that writing out an outline will help it all flow a lot easier. I start but never finish the outline. Then tell myself I can't write until I finish it. And I don't finish it. Or I'll tell myself to finish the maps. Maybe draw the route of the journey. But I just stare at the paper and do nothing. Ugh! WHY?! Multiple people tell me they want me to keep writing it and that they think it's good and that they are excited for it. But I just can't do it. The fear of rejection is too strong :(

Oh! One thing I was gonna say was this: I wonder if people notice what I was attempting to do with my blog design. It's shades of blue. "the bluest of blues". With a white header telling what it is.... Well my idea was to resemble the TARDIS. Even the title has a double meaning. On the go can mean I post whilst I'm on the go and via phone. Or on the go also means like through out space and time. And "The Ultimate Ginger". and the background. DOCTOR WHO RULES!!! Can't wait until series 6 starts up! Does anyone know when that is for sure? I've heard they will show the first two episodes back to back. (Well one one day and the second the next day) Is it still supposed to be split into two smaller section in the spring and fall??

Speaking of Doctor Who... I recently learned that they have a Doctor Who convention in Chicago every year! Called the Chicago Tardis (I think). Its November 25th-27th. And I wanna gooooooo! I'll have to talk my brother into going up there for the weekend.

Well I think I'm gonna find a new movie to watch and maybe write some! G'night!

  1. Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving your awesome comment. =)

I found with Nano the support system is essential. I had an amazing group of writers I met in my local area that were pretty much the best cheerleading squad I could have ever imagined. But sometimes people online can work just as well. I'll be happy to cheer you on at nano this year if you choose to try again. =)

What you said in this post is SO true and I suffer from it all the time. I'm so afraid of being rejected or being unhappy with my work that every time I actually could write, I come up with a reason why I can't. A reason that will hold it off until another day when I'll have a new reason. Really all I can say is do your best each day to fight the inner fight and believe in yourself. You won't win all the time, so just know that at the start. But everytime you DO win against yourself? You accomplish something toward your dream.

I told a friend the other day that realistically...if things go really well that is, I hope to maybe publish this book in 5-6 years. That's the one I'm working on now. That timeline sucks for those of us that like instant gratification and it can be a major deterrent. But then I finally realized something. If I wait 5 years to start, the time line won't change. But I'll have wasted 5 years waiting instead of being potentially close to achieving the dream.

It's all a mind game! lol

Anyway, I wish you the best of luck and get in touch with me around nano again if you need somebody rooting for you. =)

  2. I definitely will be getting in touch! I really wanna finish Nano and I think it will be a huge confidence booster for me if I do.

I'll be adding bits of the novel as I write it to my blog. So if you're interesting please feel free to check back! And any feedback on my writing is most welcome and appreciated. I'm more than happy to read your work and give some insight too! (actually now I'm quite intrigued to see what you write!!)
