Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic for iOS

I was browsing through the App Store earlier and happened upon Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. At first I was all like "No way. That's got to be some fake crap." But then I realized that noone would be allowed to use the name if it wasn't real.

If you've ever played Knights of the Old Republic for the original Xbox or PC then you know what an amazing game it is and know why I'm so excited. A lot of people say that it is one of the best RPGs ever made. I would have to agree with that. It's an amazing game. I still own it and play through it frequently.

I guess the app was only for iPad for a while but recently was released on iPhone. It cost me $4.99. Which I was more than happy to pay. As it appears (from my initial playtime) to be the full game (literally everything) the app is 1.8gb in size. But it's completely worth it.

After downloading it I plugged in my headphones and loaded it up. Sounded amazing and looked amazing! It had the same menus and everything. Same videos, same voices, same story. It's actually the exact game. But now on my iPhone!

I'm beyond excited and will be playing this all the time. The only thing I had trouble with in my short playing time is the controls. But I'm sure with time I will master them!

Check out the app on the App Store HERE for full details and May the Force be with you!

First Comic Wednesday! (SPOILERS)

So Wednesday (2 days ago) was my first comic Wednesday ever! I've been reading comics from friends and stuff but finally decided to jump in and get some too!

This week I got Batman 25, Star Wars 11, The Walking Dead 116, Sons of Anarchy 4 (for my father-in-law. But I did read it!) and Manifest Destiny 1.

Of course Batman is amazing! Snyder and Capullo are one of the best comic teams I've come across. And Zero Year is getting better and better!

I haven't read Star Wars yet. I'm actually behind a few issues on that one. But so far it has been amazing! Brian Wood is also one of my favorites.

The Walking Dead is so INTENSE! And shit is getting out of control! I LOVE IT!

Manifest Destiny is a new book about the Lewis and Clarke expedition. They have to fight the monsters in the wilderness.

SPOILERS!

At the end of the first issue a horse/man come bursting out of the woods and tramples a soldier. It's the craziest thing I've ever seen. I really like kind of alternate versions of history. Or perhaps its real history that was never revealed! I mean in the issues Lewis writes in his journal that President Jefferson is possibly off his rocker. But he then crosses it all out and says that  he was right to send them on the expedition!

Go check out this book! NOW!

And all the others that I mentions.

Actually go buy any and every comic book you can!

Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace 3D

On 2-10-12 I was one of the many people who attended a midnight showing of Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace 3D. And like most people I found there to be pros and cons about the movie. But I'm going to write this as level headed as I can and definitely be a lameo just because one little thing was changed (you still need to get over it).

This was my first 3D movie experience. So I don't have anything to base my opinions on. But overall I enjoyed the movie. I mean, come on, it's a chance to see Star Wars in theaters again. No way I can complain about that!

I didn't mind paying the $11+ for the ticket or the fact that some 3D parts of the movie were really just added depth. It was an experience that I got to share with my brother, friend, and nephew. It was another opportunity to see Darth Maul rage on the big screen. A chance to see all the glory and awesomeness of Episode I!

Yes I say awesomeness and I mean it. I love the prequels. I like them more the the original trilogy. There is more action, better action, better fight scenes, better acting (I admit there is some parts in the prequels that seem forced), and they are just more visually pleasing.

Now don't get me wrong I love the originals too. But they have their own “feel” to them. And its just not something that can compare to Episodes I-III for me. But anyways this is about the 3D movie!

Overall it was fun and I had a blast. Like I said I have no previous experience with 3D movies so I don't know where this stacks up but it seemed weak in spots. The best parts were the open space shots. They should have just skipped 3D and just released them again!

Darth Vader/Emperor in DnD with the Doctor

Just had a dream. Very weird one too. It mixed some of the biggest nerdy things out there...

I'm in a room and Emporer Palpetine is there. Darth Vader its in the next room. The Emporer is casing the dnd spell "lightning bolt" at Vader. The bolts are flying across the room, around the corner, and into the room to hit Vader. I'm scared crouching behind the Emporer. Finally I get the courage to kick him in the leg, knocking him over. I run into the other room with Vader. The Emporer follows and is trapped and captured! By whom you ask? The plan was from the mind of the Doctor! Then Matt Smith looks at his watch and says "looks like I've used up my time as the Doctor." And disappeared...

Let's hope that he doesn't leaves any time soon! He's been my favorite Doctor so far!

In Which I Complain About Complainers

So I'm sure a lot of you know that Star Wars is being released on blu-ray or some such jazz. And that there have been some changes. Minor, teeny-tiny changes. (Blink, little Ewok, blink!)

And if you have read any of my recent posts you'll know that DC Comics relaunched 52 titles this month.

And also, you may or may not have watched Torchwood: Miracle Day. (If not you need to right now!)

Well I've noticed that for all three items people are bitching non-stop.

Star Wars: "We want the original Star Wars! Why ruin it? It was perfect. We won't buy it!" Come on. Big deal if Ewoks blink now. I couldn't honestly tell you that they didn't before. And I'm pretty sure just about 100% of anyone who has ever watched Star Wars couldn't truthfully tell you they knew that. And Darth saying something like "NOOOOOOOOO!" when throwing the Emperor down the shaft. I didn't know he didn't say that. I can swear at some point in the saga Darth Vader is all like "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" I have no idea. But it's still not a reason to whine insistently about it. Get over it and just watch the originals if that's what you want you big baby!

DC Comics: At this point I have read the 14 new comics that have been released. As a new comic reader I find that all 14 are pretty darn amazing. I really haven't seen much with people complaining about the relaunch. Mainly it been about story-lines being messed up. DC doing it as some big, bogus money making scheme. (psst, that's what you do as a business who sells stuff. Make money!) Once again, don't go along with the new stuff if you don't want. Its 52 titles out of hundred available.

Torchwood: Miracle Day: I just read an article on io9. Basically it was a massive article that half bashed on and half praised it. I guess the bashing was mainly on the series as a whole. I've heard and read so many people comparing it to Torchwood: Children of Earth. Saying that they should have made it 5 episodes rather that the 10. That over half of it was drawn out and pointless. The author of the article says something about the plot not being concrete and wishing that the whole "Phase 2" would have gone some where. Did you not watch the end of the episode? The dude from the Families approached Jilly again and clearly said that they were going to try again. That as trial runs go it was pretty good. Just because one old lady and come CIA mole died doesn't mean the Families are gonna go all "Whelp that's that. Lets go play tee-ball." I could go on counter-arguing every point he made but that will take forever. The last thing was about Jack's blood and him being a "fixed point in time". Yest that's true. But the whole "his blood made the world immortal" thing doesn't mess it up. The Blessing was a freaky thing and freaky stuff happens around freaky things. Unexplainable stuff. Plus, it was the Doctor who said he was a fixed point in time. And what's rule number one children? No, not We do not talk about Fight Club. Rule #1 is: the Doctor lies. Yes, I know he most likely wasn't lying about that. But like we learn time and time again the Doctor isn't infallible. So Jack's immortal. He says more than once he can't get drunk (mainly why he does when he is mortal). Something to do with his liver being all crazy because of his immortality. Well, wouldn't that make his blood just as crazy? Heck yes it would. And "fixed point in time" could encompass anything. Are you experts on Time and Space? I know I'm not.

Anywho I'm going to leave it at that and go re-read the new DC comics so I can write a big old review on them all. Which I plan to do every week. So this Wednesday I will review the ones from last week. And next Wednesday (21st) I will review those from this Wednesday (14th). So be on the look out for those!

P.S. I know that this entire post was me complaining about people complaining and wasn't at all necessary. But hey-o!

I got published!!!

You read it correctly! I joined the Yahoo! Contributor Network and submitted a story about my graduation memories. I was very nervous about submitting it. I wasn't sure I could take that kind of rejection. But I got an email a little while ago saying that my story had been published! You can view it here: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/8024977/why_graduation_day_was_memorable_to.html?cat=43

I'm pretty dang excited about this. You have no idea! =D

Also it is Star Wars Day! May the Fourth be with you!
