Five days into NaNoWriMo and I'm actually ahead of schedule. The goal for the end of today is supposed to be 8,333 (give or take a few) and I'm at just over 10,000 already. I hope I can keep up the rest of the month. Or even keep writing more than the daily goal so I have a day or two I can skip when things get crazy at work as we get closer to Thankgiving.
I've also started on a new project this month and I'm pretty excited about it. More to come on that soon!

D30 Smartphone Cases
Check out this video for D30. It looks like silly putty but is so much more awesome! Watch the video and see why!
What's cooler than that? The same D30 technology in smartphone cases! Check out the variety of cases HERE! I saw some people saying the prices were high but it was worth it (which it is) but the prices seem about the same as Otter Boxes but the D30 definitely seems to offer more protection to your phone!

Updating the Future
I've neglected my poor old blog for almost two months now. Everything has been so crazy with wedding stuff and work and cars deciding not to work and all that fun stuff that we call life.
I'll be getting back into this more often now. Because honestly does it not take only a few minutes to write a quick post? Perhaps a bit longer for a more detailed post, such as a review (I'll have one of those up within the next week.) I've also started playing Dungeons and Dragons again (or will be soon). So expect to see posts of that nature too.
I've also been getting back to writing. And, well, yeah. That's self-explanatory. I'll be posting a bit of this and a bit of that perhaps. Ideas, progress reports, snipets of chapters, etc.
I also plan on just giving my thoughts on things. TV shows (old and new), Movies (old and new), games of all sorts (table top, pen and paper RPGs, board games, video games), anything tech related that I come across, anything science related, etc, etc. They most likely won't be an episode by episode reviews like I've done before (for TV) or even opening weekend movie reviews (I didn't see Man of Steel until two weeks after it opened). So basically I'll be doing reviews here and there as I come across and experience things. Mostly nerdy things as is happens to go.
One other thing that I've been doing lately is world building. Back in the day my friend and I had attempted to "catalog" a whole fantasy nation. Meaning this: we each drew a map, combined the two maps to make one land, placed landmarks (mountains, forests, etc) and then cities. We had a hard cover sketch book in which we would pick a city and draw a city map for it. Then on the following pages we would go through and draw the floor plans for each shop and building. Labeling what was in it. Who owned it. Etc, etc. I think we put stats for DnD too. But over the years the book has disappeared but I recently purchased a new one and we already have the land map drawn up. Expected updates on that too!
And I'll be posting wedding updates too as that nears (2 months away and we have a TON to do!)

Update on the Numenera Kickstarter by Monte Cook
I posted once before about this Kickstarter project and decided to do so once again. Monte Cook has made a science fiction role playing game called Numenera and started a Kickstarter to help fund it. And as of right now it has 6 days left and is at a current total of $298,016! Which is amazing because at the start Monte asked for only $20,000 to fund the project.
Not only is the shear amount of money being raised for this amazing but so are all the rewards you get with the stretch goals. Which are coming and going quickly. You can check the project page in the morning and again at night and see that at least one if not two stretch goal have been passed.
Plus you get so much cool stuff for a great price! I'll list below a couple of the popular backer levels so you can get an idea of what I'm talking about! (P.S. the amount pledged just went up $100 since I started writing this.) (sorry make that $160) (again sorry. that's $220) (one last update before I publish this. The Kickstarter raised $415 dollars since I started writing this!) (as I had to do some formatting adjustments the total amount it went up $670!)
ULTIMATE EBOOK FAN $50 Level
App (Android, iOS, or PC)
Name in the back of the corebook
Numenera Player's Guide PDF

Exclusive Kickstarter supporter adventure (The Nightmare Switch) PDF
The Devil's Spire 32-page adventure PDF
The Mechanized Tomb 32-page adventure PDF
The Other Side of the Maelstrom 32-page PDF
The Ninth World Bestiary 160-page PDF
Sir Arthur's Compendium 160-page PDF
Numenera 3D Paper Fold-Up Terrain PDF
GM's Screen PDF

THE REAL DEAL $60 Level (+$10 for shipping outside North America)

Cypher, Creature, and XP Deck PDFs
Those are two of the levels I can't decide between. I really think the only difference is the additional $10 to get the Corebook in print. And it looks like the Real Deal doesn't get the exclusive adventure. Now there are a TON of other backer levels with varying amounts of cool stuff. I know some of the higher levels will have physical copies of the Cypher, Creature, and XP decks as well as the adventures, bestiary, compendium, player's guide, and GM screen. But I'm okay just a PDF and printing my own for now. But go check out the page and get in on something really cool. More money and awareness raised for Numenera means the further Monte can expand the series!
Oh and I nearly forgot to add that Monte added the option to pay via PayPal if Kickstarter isn't your thing. From the Numenera link I posted above you will find the PayPal option in the left sidebar. It has all the same reward levels listed with its own PayPal button. This just shows how much of an awesome guy Monte Cook is! Thanks Monte for putting together such a great game and fun Kickstarter!

Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace 3D
On 2-10-12 I was one of the many people
who attended a midnight showing of Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace 3D.
And like most people I found there to be pros and cons about the
movie. But I'm going to write this as level headed as I can and
definitely be a lameo just because one little thing was changed (you
still need to get over it).
This was my first 3D movie experience.
So I don't have anything to base my opinions on. But overall I
enjoyed the movie. I mean, come on, it's a chance to see Star Wars in
theaters again. No way I can complain about that!
I didn't mind paying the $11+ for the
ticket or the fact that some 3D parts of the movie were really just
added depth. It was an experience that I got to share with my
brother, friend, and nephew. It was another opportunity to see Darth
Maul rage on the big screen. A chance to see all the glory and
awesomeness of Episode I!
Yes I say awesomeness and I mean it. I
love the prequels. I like them more the the original trilogy. There
is more action, better action, better fight scenes, better acting (I
admit there is some parts in the prequels that seem forced), and they
are just more visually pleasing.
Now don't get me wrong I love the
originals too. But they have their own “feel” to them. And its
just not something that can compare to Episodes I-III for me. But
anyways this is about the 3D movie!
Overall it was fun and I had a blast.
Like I said I have no previous experience with 3D movies so I don't
know where this stacks up but it seemed weak in spots. The best parts
were the open space shots. They should have just skipped 3D and just
released them again!

Update To Mysterious Figure in DC Comics New 52
Back in September when DC Comics launched the New 52 I (among countless others) noticed a mysterious figure that appears in each of the #1 issues. All I could find out about her is that she was at the very end of Flashpoint #5.
A few days ago DC made a blog post. All it contained was "Her name is Pandora" and was followed by a picture of her. That't it. The title of the post was "DC Comics in 2012". I'm sure its pretty safe to assume that she will have some impact this year. And I hope soon!
Maybe she will show up for the New 52's first big event or whatever. (Now remember I'm still fairly new to comics and most likely have no idea what I'm talking about).
That's her. Pandora. Who is she? What impact will she have? Will it be across all 52 titles (since she was in all the first issues)?

Happy New Year!
Well Happy New Year everyone!
I was going to write about how 2011 was. The ups and downs and all that jazz but really you could just go read through my blog and see what I was up to. I honestly can't think of a whole lot off the top of my head.
- I started playing disc golf (though not in a while). Its pretty great and I hope I get to play more this year.
- We got a new dairy department manager at work and I guess its because of him that I started reading comics. And I have to say that I absolutely love them!
- Skyrim was released and it is absolutely amazing!
- I pretty much switched to digital books. Though if I read an ebook and it blows me away I'm going to buy the physical copy too.
- I blogged a whole bunch, and met a whole bunch of great people through it (you know who you are!).
- I actually finished a short story which I had originally rushed for a writing deadline on this one site. I then published it on Smashwords. I'm pretty proud of that. Actually writing something to the finish. Even though I published it I know that it needs a ton of work. My brother and I did a few quick rounds of grammar and spelling edits but that is it. I should go back at some point and fix it up.
- Speaking of writing. I didn't actually write anywhere near as much as I wanted. And that's my fault. Though I did start a collaboration project with a cousin of mine. I have big hopes for it and even though I haven't done much with it in a while it's always been simmering in my mind.
That's all I can think of that I want to put. I don't really make resolutions. But I told myself that I was going to make some changes for 2012.
1. WRITE!!!
2. Cut soda out of my diet. I drink way to much of it and that's no good
3. That was it really. Well and write more!
Happy New Year and best of luck in 2012

I've Kept Busy...But Not With Writing (and that makes me sad)
It's been two weeks now since I've blogged anything. And a while longer since I've really blogged a lot. I've been absorbed by Skyrim and catching up on comics and catching up on books and I wish I could say writing but I can't do that without lying. (this makes me sad)
I've also been working on my fantasy world. Added to the map I already had (now its 4 times larger). Though its still 75% incomplete (that's a lot of coloring!). Once the map is done I plan to name it (or attempt to), divide it into countries/provinces/etc, name them, fill them will all sorts of creatures, and then write a bunch of back story and history and all that good, fun stuff! Its a pretty big task and I feel crazy for taking it on. But who knows, it may help my book flow? Maybe.
The only bad part about playing Skyrim is that I can't talk to anyone about it. It's not that I don't know anyone playing it too. I know tons of people playing it. Its no one wants spoilers! (neither do I) Each person I know who plays could each play 100 hours and still barely do the same stuff in the game. So you never know who's done what and if you can mention it to them. Its maddening!!!
*Potential spoilers. You'v been warned*
I've read a whole mess of comics over the last week or so. A friend is having me read the whole Ultimates/Avengers/whateveritscalled thingy. I love it all so far. I also just finished Fear Itself (the main 7 I guess). Oh, and I started reading Locke and Key too. Its pretty great too! The Batman: Arkham Unhinged (which is based off the Arkham City game) has been absolutely wonderful. I can't get enough! All the new Ultimate Comics have been pretty good too. But I'm sad that the Hawkeye one is only a mini-series and not ongoing. I like Hawkeye. Though the best one I've read this week was probably Batman Noel by Lee Bermejo. Its a graphic novel about Batman (surprise right?). But its like A Christmas Carol Batman. Where Batman is "Scrooge" and his is visited by Catwoman, Superman, and the Joker (I think the Joker was the 3rd "ghost") If I understand right Bob Cratchett is telling the story to Tiny Tim. I could be wrong but I think thats right. Anyways go and pick it up. I promise you won't be disappointed!
Writing. What can I say about writing? Nothing right now and that makes me sad :(

Disappointment about Eragon (the movie)
So after finishing the final book in the Inheritance Cycle I decided to watch the Eragon movie from 2006. (I hadn't seen it since it was in theaters.) Though now I wish I hadn't. On it's own, with out the books, it might have been a good movie in my opinion. But knowing how the book is and how the series goes it made me cringe the entire time.
Here are just some of the inconsistencies I noticed (and some of them could be wrong. It was 4am at the time)
- They called Saphira's egg "Galbatorix's Stone" and he was like "I suffer without my stone". I understand they don't want to go yelling about it being a dragon egg. But they should have just cut all that out and it wouldn't have changed a thing.
- Horst's sons were being "recruited" into the king's army. I don't remember any recruiting. Or even the king's soldiers being in Carvahall. Especially not Horst's sons.
- Eragon's leather vest looked more like fake, plasticy, plastic than leather. It looked too new as well. It would have been more worn and dirty. Or at look like it had been used. Or real.
- When Saphira's egg hatched everyone seemed to know instantly. Brom, the King, Arya. How would that even be possible?
- I don't know if this is accurate. But the king's giant map has Farthen Dur on it. I thought it was hidden or else he would have attacked long ago. Or maybe he just can't find it exactly? or how to get it?
- Horst and Sloan look nothing like I remember. Horst in the books was a big guy. I always pictured him as tall, very muscular, with a epic beard. Not a scrawny, sickly, balding man. And Sloan I pictured as a little guy. Not a twig but not like the massive guy who played him in the movie. And he wasn't rude enough to Eragon.
- I remember this bothering me immensely in the theater. Saphira's rapid growth. She could barely fly. Then apparently went through some magic clouds because seconds later she was massive. I'm sure this was done for the movie. To get to the point of her being fully grown quickly but no. Just no.
- Also the Urgals had no horns. That is like their most distinguishing feature.
Sigh.
That is all that I wrote down before I wanted to cry. I don't think the acting or anything was bad. I actually enjoy a lot of the actors/actresses that were in it. It was just the script/story/how they translated from the book to the movie. They mashed stuff together. Durza killed Brom? The whole thing with the Ra'zac killing him was HUGE in the book. And the dwarves looked more like men with beards. Murtagh was played well but they didn't give him much screen time. By played well I mean the actor not his lines or anything. And Angela was in Daret? I don't recall them ever going to a Daret and she most definitely wasn't there. The fortune she told was weak and not very accurate. AND they didn't even show Solembum at all! How could they not? He is a chief character and adds a load of mystery with just like two lines.
Overall it was just rushed, and crammed, and badly done. If they didn't have the resources to make a decent adaptation they shouldn't have attempted. Why ruin such an amazing story?
I had huge expectations for this movie. Now after 5 years and finally getting to read the entire series I am really, really, REALLY hoping they will find someone to make four epic movies. Let Peter Jackson give it a go. He does epic.

REVIEW: DC Comics - The New 52 - Week Three (Sept 21st)
Here is my week three review. Enjoy! Potential Spoilers if you haven't read them yet and plan to.
BATMAN - A+++
By now you should have realized that I
am a huge Batman fan! And his actual title is amazing. It starts out
with him duking it out with a whole mess of baddies. And not just
some common thugs. But from who I know and can see its more like
Two-Face, Scarecrow, The Riddler, Mr. Freeze (no not the Govenator),
Killer Croc, some lava thing?, and a huge sumo guy. Batman is
whooping up on them and is thrown through a window. And BAM the Joker
is all like "there you are. thought you were going to die
without saying goodbye!" Then the Batman is like "Ready to
do this?" and then they both bust out of the window and put some
hurt on the baddies. Later Gordon tells Batman that the security
cameras looked like he was fighting alongside the Joker. Batman says
that's ridiculous. Back in the Bat-cave you see all his collecibles.
Including the T-rex (anyone want to explain this to me?). The Joker
is there and they talk. But it's not the Joker, it's really Dick
Grayson wearing and E.M.P. mask. Then Bruce Wayne is giving a speech
saying he wants to make Gotham a better place. Then he hears Gordon
talk a police call and he swoops off to investigate the murder.
Behind the deadman on the wall was a hidden message saying "Bruce
Wayne will die tomorrow". But the man had been dead a week. So
who ever is going to kill Bruce knew when the body would be found.
Batman finds skin under the dead man's fingernails. Alfred does a
scan and it comes back as Dick Grayson's.... BUM BUM BUM!
BIRDS OF PREY - B
This one wasn't too bad. Some scantily
clad assassin chicks or something. I'm not sure. They fight off some
dudes who I think are invisible to save some guy. At the end the guys
eyes start to bleed and he blows up.
BLUE BEETLE - F
I didn't like this one at all. Half the
comic was in spanish. And just the whole parasite thing idea wasn't
my idea of fun...
CAPTAIN ATOM - C
This one wasn't one of my favorites
either. He absorbs energy I think. And there was a volcano in New
York. Should have called Tommy Lee Jones!
CATWOMAN - A
This one was good. And no not because
he was only half in her costume the entire thing. Well not only that!
HA! Anyways she is attacked at her apartment and flees. Meets a
friend to get a job. Is in a russian club/orgy acting as a bartender.
Sees some guy who beat/raped her and he tears him up and then runs
away. Then she is chilling in her new place and Batman shows up and
they get freaky-deaky.
DC UNIVERSE PRESENTS - B-
This one was iffy. I won't say I like
or hate it. I like the idea that he has to live through/as people and
help them with their problems. I just hope they take it in an
interesting direction. If I understand right his comic will follow
different people? Right now it's Deadman. Who is Dove's boyfriend
(from Hawk and Dove).
GREEN LANTERN CORPS - A
Some Green Lanterns are murdered by a
mystery person. One's ring flies off to find a new owner/master. Then
some stuff with Guy Gardner and a GL named _____ Stewart trying to
fit in to regular life. Then they are chilling in space and a whole
planet of water critters is killed. Then they are summoned and they
fly off to investigate and find all the dead and realize someone is
toying with them.
LEGION OF SUPERHEROES - C
I can't even start on this one. It
wasn't all that bad but there were like 5 billion superheroes
introduced and the only one I can remember is some Lad-lad.
NIGHTWING - A
Is Dick Grayson. He talks about how he
fills in as Batman when Bruce is out of town. The circus in which he
used to perform is back in Gotham. The one where his parents were
murdered. He finally goes and visits everyone. They talk him into
getting up on the swingy thing. He does and falls into the net. Then
as he is walking down the street some green Wolverine wanna be
attacks him saying he was been looking for him. Dick Grayson not
Nightwing. Cops show up and distract the bad guy allowing Dick to
change into his Nightwing stuff. The bad guy flees telling him to
stay out of it. They fight some more on the rooftop. Bad guy breaks a
little water tower and Nightwing falls off building. Bad guy is
slashing him at the end... I think Batman will save him. And that the
badguy is someone hired to kill him by the people who killed his
family.
RED HOOD AND THE OUTLAWS - B
This one was weird. Red Hood saves some
guy who shoots a red bow from prison. They go to the beach and there
is an orange alien chick. The bow guy gets freaky with her while Red
Hood talks to some girl who I'm sure no one else can see. (but I'm
sure she is real) And he leaves to do some mission.
Supergirl - A
I liked this one. She crashes on Earth
not knowing what is going on. She actually hits near the "kansas
incident" which I assume relates to Superman but I'm not sure.
She travels through the Earth and comes out in Russia. She still
thinks she is on Krypton. Some guys in mech armor attack her, trying
to capture her. And she starts shoot lasers and stuff at them. Though
I don't think she knew she could. Then at the end Superman shows up
and saves her. I think they might be daughter/father. Not sure on
that either.
WONDER WOMAN - B
Some bad person kills two horses and
makes them in to centaurs to kill some lady in the middle of Alabama
or something. Something to do with her child (unborn that is). Some
bird looking guy named Hermes was trying to save the girl and was
shot with an arrow. He says to take the girl and run to the ends of
the world or the Queen will see her dead. The lady is pregnant by
Zeus apparently.

REVIEW: DC Comics - The New 52 - Week Two (Sept 14th)
Haven't been able to get online much in the last few days. This is my review/thoughts on week two of the New 52.
BATMAN AND ROBIN - A
Basically Batman and his son Damian as Robin. Doing their thing. Well Damian is a bit of a idiot. He doesn't think of what consequences his actions will hold. He has little regard for the safety of anyone. The baddie who I don't believe Batman has even met is called Nobody. Which looked alien to me. All invisible and what not. Can't wait to see how Batman deals with him. And also his jerk of a son.
BATWOMAN - F
This one was terrible in my opinion. The story just never hooked me at all.
DEATHSTROKE - B
I'm not sure if this dude is a good guy or bad. Though he did cut a fly in half in mid-flight. With a thrown paper clip. That was pretty cool. The fly attack got it a B.
DEMON KNIGHTS - A+
This one seemed more like a fantasy comic. Maybe it was supposed to. I guess I always associated comics and superhereos with sci-fi. I love fantasy books and movies so this one was fantastic. The demon is inside of the main character and he just has to say this little rhyme and boom the demon takes over and is all like "I'm gonna rage on yous!" I love it!
FRANKENSTEIN, AGENT OF SHADE - C
I didn't really enjoy this one too much. Just seemed weird. "Monsters"? Seemed silly to me.
GREEN LANTERN - A
Sinestro (who ever that is. Though it does sound familiar. No I haven't seen the movie.) gets his green lantern ring back. And then the little floating lantern masters guys kill one of their own. Then Sinestro does some stuff. Hal Jordan (guy from movie?) is all broke and stuff. Lost his ring. Meaning gave it back/had it taken away. At the end Sinestro offers Hal his ring back if he does what he says.
GRIFTER - A
Guy was a con-artist, gets captured by alien things. They are in his head. Fights his way out of the building. Been named a terrorist (beginning was a flashback? him fighting them on a plane) for the plane incident. Some military guy orders the con's brother (who is a military guy) to find him and take care of it.
LEGION LOST - B-
I think they are time travelers? Chasing one of their own. He is possessed or something and changes into this monster/beast/thing. I like the story idea and characters, but the art was lacking at times.
MISTER TERRIFIC - A
This one was better than I thought it would be. Guess the title and cover doesn't mean it will be a bad book. Mister Terrific is a scientist who did this quantum experiment or something and opened another dimension. His "lair" is located in this dimension. He even mentions Doctor Who which is amazing! Then this random guy goes crazy. Telling it like it is and killing what he thinks are "worthless" people. Mister Terrific investigates and at the end of the issue he too goes crazy...
RED LANTERNS - C
I have no idea what was going on in this one. The guy was complaining about being angry I think.
RESURRECTION MAN - A+++++
This has been my favorite one so far! Every time he dies he comes back. Every time with a new power. At the start he is on a gurney, "dead". He can "taste" the metal of everything in the room. He is "magnetic" or can do stuff with magnetics/metal. He makes the ATM give him money. He uses his power to pick up a teddy bear by its metal collar to amuse a kid. Then on the plane this lady changes into an alien/demon and tells Mitch (the Resurrection Man) that his soul is overdue. The beast tears the plane open with its wings. He whoops up on her and jumps out of the plane. Sealing the door to try and save people. She says the people are all doomed and says his soul has become "prized". Then he creates a magnetic field and electrocutes her (there is a huge storm going down.) and kills her. Then he gets sucked into the planes engine and dies. Then comes back. He says this time it "tastes" like pain. He can sense all the anger and regret and bitterness and etc. He flees as sirens approach the wreck. Then turns himself into tears and flows away in a river. It seems someone is after him. Someone mentions "guys upstairs" and "the basement people" whoever they are.
SUICIDE SQUAD - A
A bunch of, well I'm not sure what they are. Bad or good. But they are the suicide squad. Doing the missions that are pretty much suicidal. They are being tortured for answers as to who leads them. But its all a test to see who makes it to Task Force X. Their first mission is to wipe out 60,000 people in the megadome is Mississippi. Why? I have no idea but I like the story so far!
SUPERBOY - A
He is a test-tube kid. Or a clone of Superman maybe. I can't remember if they say. But they were going to kill him and terminate the project. He gets mad and breaks free, only to be stopped by the one person who didn't want to kill him. They then continue the project and they run tests and scan his subconscious and learn stuff. Trying to figure out about his original donors. In the "dreams" he lives in middle-of-nowhere Kansas. He is always the new kid. And always "ignores" the burning house and trapped woman. A guy inside the lab is a spy sorta and telling Lois Lane all sorts of details. But he lies about what they are doing at the facility. He thinks that when the world finds out he will be killed for leaking information. They plan on using Superboy to fight other superheroes or something. I didn't recognize any of the ones shown. So basically he is a grown super-weapon.

REVIEW: DC Comics - The New 52 - Week One (Sept 7th)
This week will include Justice League #1 as well. And
now I am basically going to give my opinion on each comic. The only order to these is alphabetical. Now please
remember prior to the New 52 I had never read a comic and the only
superhero related stuff I know is from the movies. Most people base
comics off of artist and writer. As I know nothing of either I read
them all.
ACTION COMICS - A
I think the art was fantastic and the story was great. A time when Superman wasn't trusted by everyone. The police shot at him repeatedly. At the end he is pinned, unconscious between a train he saved and the Daily Planet. And will most likely be captured by Lex Luthor and the government. Since the next issue is called Superman In Chains.
ANIMAL MAN - C
I gave it a C because of the art. It was really weird and confusing. A lot of the panel (is that the right word?) placement was weird to me. I like the story idea. Being able to pull abilities from any animal would be amazing!
BATGIRL - A
I loved it! I'm not even sure why really. The art was great. The story was great. But there is something else that I can't place. This is a definite read in my opinion!
BATWING - A
This one was also great. Even with a bit of the Batman in there. I meant it has Batman for a bit. That made it better! But the story was good. I loved the villain but want to know how he survives being run through the back with that sword! And I want to know about that other former superhero.
DETECTIVE COMICS - A+++
This was probably my favorite out of the September 7th comics! What's not to like? Great art. Amazing story. Batman vs. the Joker. And in the end Someone cuts the Jokers face on. And it was the Joker's idea! Some guy called the Dollmaker!
GREEN ARROW - B
The only thing I didn't really like was some of his cheesy comments while he was fighting the bad guys. Other than that it was great.
HAWK AND DOVE - B
This one was really good. Lots of mystery. What was up with Hawk's brother (the deceased and former Dove) and the new Dove? Something that she won't tell Hawk unless she has to. I know that Hawk's brother died in battle but I found it annoying that all he did was give Dove a hard time the whole issue. I mean she was doing everything she could.
JUSTICE LEAGUE - A+
This one was my second favorite. More Batman and the start of the Justice League. The story was phenomenal! As was the art. But from what I've heard of the writer and artist that's to be expected. Though once again Superman is being a dick. Batman and Green Lantern show up to talk to him and he attacks. What's with that? I can't wait til the next issue when Batman puts a serious beat down on Superman. I never really liked the idea of Green Lantern but he was pretty legit. Green Lantern gives Batman grief because he is "just a guy in a bat suit". But I think after he whoops up on Superman GL will be all like "DAAAAMN!" and then know Batman is the real deal!
JUSTICE LEAGUE INTERNATIONAL - B
It had Batman (but which book really doesn't am I right? Huh? Huh?) and he basically kept this new UN version of the Justice League together on their first mission. Well until this gigantic robot thing came out of the ground and the comic ends with them fighting/being made dead. Not sure which.
MEN OF WAR - B
This one was pretty good. It was mostly a war comic I guess I'll call it. But near the end there was a flying dude. A superhero. Who appeared to be fighting his own shadow. That could be interesting!
O.M.A.C. - B
From what I understand and I could be wrong this is a brand new comic? The very first #1? But its O.M.A.C. is basically a guy being controlled by aliens. And they are in his head manipulating him. But he turns into this big blue monster/alien/superhero.
STATIC SHOCK - C
I wasn't really a fan of this one. The story was slow to me until the end when he got his arm shot off.
STORMWATCH - A
This was probably my 3rd favorite. They are like super-superheros or some such thing. They tried recruiting a Superman equivalent guy. Who refused and then some guy I can't remember took them out and offered Apollo the chance to take out all the scum in the city. Which is what he wanted to do.
SWAMP THING - A
Very good comic. He has only vague memories of being "Swamp Thing". And something natural is happening and this mastadon skeleton turns into this giant, rotting monster thing. And the flies surrounding it fly into your ear and turn your head around. Which I would think kill you but they then control you! Then the guy is about to throw his plant serum/goo/stuff out and a swamp monster is like "I wouldn't do that if I were you. The one thing that confused me was when on the two page spread it showed birds in Metropolis all falling dead from the sky, bats in the Batcave all dying, and fish where ever Aquaman lives all die at the same time. That makes more sense then the Dinosaur that's right about the part with the Batcave. What's with the dino?
Well that was my basic opinion on them. Feel free to geek out with me about them. And maybe answer the dinosaur question. That'd be nice.

In Which I Complain About Complainers
So I'm sure a lot of you know that Star Wars is being released on blu-ray or some such jazz. And that there have been some changes. Minor, teeny-tiny changes. (Blink, little Ewok, blink!)
And if you have read any of my recent posts you'll know that DC Comics relaunched 52 titles this month.
And also, you may or may not have watched Torchwood: Miracle Day. (If not you need to right now!)
Well I've noticed that for all three items people are bitching non-stop.
Star Wars: "We want the original Star Wars! Why ruin it? It was perfect. We won't buy it!" Come on. Big deal if Ewoks blink now. I couldn't honestly tell you that they didn't before. And I'm pretty sure just about 100% of anyone who has ever watched Star Wars couldn't truthfully tell you they knew that. And Darth saying something like "NOOOOOOOOO!" when throwing the Emperor down the shaft. I didn't know he didn't say that. I can swear at some point in the saga Darth Vader is all like "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" I have no idea. But it's still not a reason to whine insistently about it. Get over it and just watch the originals if that's what you want you big baby!
DC Comics: At this point I have read the 14 new comics that have been released. As a new comic reader I find that all 14 are pretty darn amazing. I really haven't seen much with people complaining about the relaunch. Mainly it been about story-lines being messed up. DC doing it as some big, bogus money making scheme. (psst, that's what you do as a business who sells stuff. Make money!) Once again, don't go along with the new stuff if you don't want. Its 52 titles out of hundred available.
Torchwood: Miracle Day: I just read an article on io9. Basically it was a massive article that half bashed on and half praised it. I guess the bashing was mainly on the series as a whole. I've heard and read so many people comparing it to Torchwood: Children of Earth. Saying that they should have made it 5 episodes rather that the 10. That over half of it was drawn out and pointless. The author of the article says something about the plot not being concrete and wishing that the whole "Phase 2" would have gone some where. Did you not watch the end of the episode? The dude from the Families approached Jilly again and clearly said that they were going to try again. That as trial runs go it was pretty good. Just because one old lady and come CIA mole died doesn't mean the Families are gonna go all "Whelp that's that. Lets go play tee-ball." I could go on counter-arguing every point he made but that will take forever. The last thing was about Jack's blood and him being a "fixed point in time". Yest that's true. But the whole "his blood made the world immortal" thing doesn't mess it up. The Blessing was a freaky thing and freaky stuff happens around freaky things. Unexplainable stuff. Plus, it was the Doctor who said he was a fixed point in time. And what's rule number one children? No, not We do not talk about Fight Club. Rule #1 is: the Doctor lies. Yes, I know he most likely wasn't lying about that. But like we learn time and time again the Doctor isn't infallible. So Jack's immortal. He says more than once he can't get drunk (mainly why he does when he is mortal). Something to do with his liver being all crazy because of his immortality. Well, wouldn't that make his blood just as crazy? Heck yes it would. And "fixed point in time" could encompass anything. Are you experts on Time and Space? I know I'm not.
Anywho I'm going to leave it at that and go re-read the new DC comics so I can write a big old review on them all. Which I plan to do every week. So this Wednesday I will review the ones from last week. And next Wednesday (21st) I will review those from this Wednesday (14th). So be on the look out for those!
P.S. I know that this entire post was me complaining about people complaining and wasn't at all necessary. But hey-o!

Webcomics!
I've never been one to read webcomics but I started reading a couple. And they are pretty interesting so far. One is called The Zombie Hunters. I'm sure you can guess what it's about. The zombie apocalypse. Well more specifically a group of "zombie hunters" I guess. The humans live on an island. Between 5 and 6 thousand are on there. I know there is a military type thing and leaders and stuff. And groups go over to the mainland to get supplies. This group of "zombie hunters" is one of them. I'll mention one other thing. The virus can also be dormant. In a human. And they will function just fine. Though they can infect others I think. And if that dormant infected die, they regenerate as zombies. I don't think I've ever seen a zombie story with a dormant version of the virus. Pretty cool
The other is Darths and Droids. It's Star Wars and role playing mixed. They take stills from the Star Wars movies and put talky bubbles over them. But it's not what's in the movies. It's actually a group of people playing a table-top RPG. From what I got the Star Wars story line doesn't exist. And the talky bubbles are what the players and GM are saying. It's very entertaining. Some of it won't make sense if you don't or haven't role played. So far they have made it up to halfway through episode 3.
Not much else going on. Storms started. Thunder and lightning. Making it hard to hear my movie. Which happens to be The Perfect Storm. Hmmm....
